With over forty-five years of metalcasting experience in both quality and sales roles, Fred Thompson has begun a new endeavor after the abrupt closure of Manchester Metals, Inc. in April 2018.  It all began for Fred in October 1972 when he took a quality position at North Manchester Foundry. Little did he know at the time that it would ignite a passion for the foundry industry that endures to this day.  After several promotions, Fred was named Quality Manager and led the department during some of it's finest years. Fred proved himself as an excellent hands-on foundryman and excelled in scrap reduction initiatives.   

In 1998 Fred took over as the Sales Manager and held that role for his remaining twenty years at North Manchester Foundry/Manchester Metals. During his forty-five years, Fred has forged lasting relationships with both customers and casting suppliers.  Those relationships are the foundation of our business.
